Howzat Balzat’s

Sunday afternoon Balzat Concert, 10th November 2013. [Based on a review by Barrie Collett]
The entire, highly talented Balzat family, comprising Dad, Mum and all seven of their children, combined to stage a concert at the Holy Cross Church, Albany, Auckland, that proved to be a wonderful musical feast.

Their incredible repertoire combines violins, cello, flute, guitars, keyboard and percussion in a variety of musical styles, including some impressive own compositions, all of which thrilled the large audience.

Mum and Dad and the older children all hold University degrees including 5 in music. The display of musical talent was quite astonishing. The whole concert was played from memory. This family group have been giving concerts since 1995. They performed in the NZ Miss World NZ final in 2010 and also toured through Europe the same year.
Mum and Dad are now the proud grandparents of several grandchildren who, although they are quite young, are already starting to learn musical instruments.

The expressions of happiness and thorough enjoyment from all of these marvellous entertainers during the concert gave an additional dimension to this fantastic display. They certainly all have a great future!

Money raised at this Concert will be put towards a fund being accumulated to provide a scholarship for a skilled young person who wishes to learn to play the organ.
