For your diary

Plan ahead and diary this unique event, either as a participant or a patron.
Celebrating choral music-making is a happening when many of Canterbury’s groups (from schools and churches and choral societies etc.) gather together for an hour of singing to one another and en masse (the chosen work for the massed performance will stay as a treasured memory for the rest of your life as indeed will many of the programme items – so make sure you attend).
In 2017 starting 7.00pm on Saturday 2 September, the Choral Festival is to be held at St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, Manchester Street, Christchurch.
The Cathedral opens its doors for groups to rehearse ahead of the event. The church group for example practices at the Cathedral Friday 1 September commencing 7.00pm. Groups wishing to avail themselves for a rehearsal time slot should contact Don Whelan 03 358 5873 or eml don.whelan@xtra.co.nz

See the picture of a previous choral festival held then in the Arena.
