From “Unfinished” to Great Finale

RSCMNZ Affiliate CBS (Cathedral of the blessed Sacrament) Choir and Orchestra together with illustrious guest soloist and soloists from the ranks of the choir, have just concluded a week-long Arts Festival based around St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, Manchester Street, Christchurch.

It started on 17 June 2017 with a performance of Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony and Mendelssohn’s Aquinas Hymn, Lauda Sion on the Saturday night. Then John Ritchie’s Missa Corpus Christi at the 10.30am Mass the next morning, followed by RSCMNZ’s Music Sunday celebration in the afternoon (to view click MUSIC-SUNDAY-cover).

At the Finale, the guest soloist, Rebecca Ryan (seated left front row) together with soloists from the choir ranks and the choir and orchestra are seen performing the Great C minor Mass by Mozart as a fitting climax to the Festival.
