West Australia stalwart passes on

John Beaverstock, Chairman of RSCM West Australia Branch expresses greetings and condolences to the Bastian family, members and friends.

“I have received the news today that Dudley Bastian, Chairman of the WA Branch of RSCM from 1974 to 1983, died on Monday.
Dudley is particularly remembered in our Branch for starting the Junior Choristers’ Courses (known today as Singing Camps).
His work in the Branch lasted long past his time as Chairman. Particularly memorable was his cutting of the celebratory cake at the 40th Choir Camp in 2014.
His funeral is at St Edmund’s Anglican Church, Wembley.
With his encouragement, the parish bought a redundant organ from a church in Great Yarmouth and erected it in St Edmund’s in 1993: it will be a fitting place for the occasion.

Regards to all
John Beaverstock”
