On or about 10 June 2018 over 8,500 Christian church entities involving up to 2.3 Billion members have the opportunity to celebrate Music Sunday.
This is one of the thousands of choral and educational events conducted each year worldwide (UK, America, Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, South Africa etc.) by the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM).
Music Sunday is an opportunity organised by your nearest local RSCM branch for Clergy, Musicians and laity to enjoy singing and fellowship and to honour both the work of the church and the ministry of music in support of its Services.
Entry is free – with donations, koha being welcome.
The format varies from branch to branch and can be anything from a special Service to a concert or perhaps sing-a-longs which often involve guest artists and massed items for both choristers and audiences.
As well as Churches, many local schools worldwide are affiliated with the RSCM and benefit from its educational resources. These include Voice for Life tuition and examinations (grades and Awards) as well as availability of music and liturgical publications.
For instance this picture shows Medbury School Boys’ Choir Christchurch who will be guest artists at the forthcoming 10 June Music Sunday in that city.
